Optitera Global Networks

This Refund and Return Policy is governed by the applicable laws of Canada and is designed to clarify the rights and responsibilities of both Optitera Global Networks (“Optitera”) and our customers. By purchasing from Optitera, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. General Return Eligibility

1.1. Standard Return Window:

  • Most products may be returned within 14 days of delivery, provided they are in new, unopened, and unused condition, including all original packaging, manuals, and accessories.
  • Items must be returned with proof of purchase (e.g., receipt or invoice).

1.2. Non-Returnable Products:

  • Licenses and software products.
  • Opened or used monitors, computers, hard drives, graphics cards, RAM, UPS devices, and batteries (exceptions may apply with restocking fees).
  • Special Order Items: Products not regularly stocked by Optitera or ordered specifically at the customer’s request are final sale unless defective.
  • Logi/Logitech Products: Returns are not accepted; all warranty claims must be processed directly with Logitech.
  • Ergotron Products: Once opened (e.g., packaging seal broken), sales are final.

1.3. Condition of Returned Items:

  • Products must be returned in resalable condition, including all components, packaging, manuals, and accessories.
  • Opened or used monitors, computers, hard drives, graphics cards, RAM, UPS devices, and batteries (exceptions may apply with restocking fees).

2. Shipping Costs

2.1. Optitera Error or Defective Items:

  • Optitera will cover return shipping costs for errors (e.g., incorrect or defective items) identified within 14 days of delivery.

2.2. Customer-Initiated Returns:

  • The customer is responsible for shipping costs. Any item shipped collect or without prior authorization may be refused.

3. Restocking Fees

3.1. Non-Defective Returns:

  • Items returned for reasons unrelated to defects may incur a restocking fee of up to 35%, depending on the product type and condition.

3.2. High-Value Orders:

  • Non-defective orders exceeding $1,000 will also incur restocking fees equal to the credit card processing fees (2.5–3%).

3.3. Exceptions:

  • Store credit may be offered instead of restocking fees for some approved returns.

4. Refund Processing

Refunds will be issued in the original payment method within 30 days after the returned product is received and inspected. The timeline includes:

  • Transit Time: 5–10 business days for returns to arrive at Optitera.
  • Inspection and Processing: 3–5 business days upon receipt.
  • Bank Processing: 5–10 business days, depending on your financial institution.

5. Return Authorization (RMA)

  • All returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number issued by Optitera.
  • Unauthorized returns or those without an RMA will be refused and returned at the sender’s expense.

6. Defective or DOA Products

6.1. 14-Day Window:

  • Products received Dead on Arrival (DOA) or found to be defective within 14 days will be repaired, replaced, or refunded at Optitera’s discretion.
  • Optitera will provide a prepaid return label in such cases.

6.2. Beyond 14 Days:

  • Items failing within 1 year of purchase (excluding accidental damage) may be repaired or replaced but return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility.

7. Damaged or Lost Shipments

7.1. 14-Day Window:

  • Claims for damaged or lost items must be reported within 14 days of delivery.
  • Insurance claims are limited to the coverage provided by the shipping carrier unless additional insurance was purchased at the time of order.

8. Limitation of Liability

Optitera’s liability is limited to the repair, replacement, or refund of the purchase price of returned items in accordance with this policy. Optitera is not responsible for:

  • Compatibility issues arising from incorrect product selection by the customer.
  • Products damaged due to improper handling, use, or packaging during return.
  • Bank Processing: 5–10 business days, depending on your financial institution.

9. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
